Calls for Art 2026
We welcome your submissions to various open call shows throughout the year. Pieces are due at OAC generally the weekend before show opens – see each show for specific dates. Some shows, such as the Juried Show, will have different requirements or entry fees, which will be updated as information is available. Work will be reviewed upon submission, and must be exhibit-ready. See show application forms for specific details of entry and participation.
Artists are welcome to apply for a featured artist spot in our North Hall at any point during the year, when space is available. Contact Julie White at gallery@oliverart.org for more information. To propose an exhibition in our Fisher Room Gallery or our Beck and Borwell Galleries, please use this form. We typically schedule exhibits up to two years in advance, though occasionally spots will be open throughout the year. You are welcome to submit a proposal at any time.

BLOOM! OPENS APRIL 4th in our FISHER ROOM GALLERY
There’s nothing more exciting than the first flowers of spring – especially here in northwest Michigan! This open call exhibit will showcase work in a variety of media – all in celebration of the buds and blooms of spring. We can’t wait to see your interpretations of this colorful theme!
ARTiFACTORY 2026: CELEBRATE THE HISTORY OF THE AMERICAN FLAG
In celebration of the United States’ Semiquincentennial (250th birthday), the fourth annual ARTiFACTORY program is shifting its lens from physical museum artifacts to the power of the American flag. This year’s theme invites community members to explore the history, symbolism, and personal meanings of the American flag through poetry and visual art. Presented in partnership with the Benzie Area Historical Society, an opening reception will be held April 12th, with a poetry reading and artwork display.
COMMUNITY COLLAGE FUNDRAISER PROJECT
Our 2026 Community Collage project will be dedicated to the memory of Jane Muer, a longtime supporter of this special fundraising event. Stop by the OAC beginning April 1st to pick up a blank 6″ x 6″ canvas on which to create your very own masterpiece. All media are accepted, so get creative! When your canvas is complete, drop it back off to us for inclusion in our giant community collage with over 200 canvases, which will be on display in our North Hall beginning June 1st. These mini-masterpieces will then be on sale, with all proceeds benefiting programming at the Oliver Art Center. Be a part of something impactful and FUN!

Our 2026 Summer Member Exhibit is the kickoff to our peak summer season at OAC! Featuring a wide variety of media and styles from our talented member artists, this fan-favorite show has something for everyone to enjoy.

JUBILEE! ODE TO THE MICHIGAN CHERRY OPENS JUNE 27th in our FISHER ROOM GALLERY
“Jubilee!” is an ode to the cherry in all its glory. In northwest Michigan, we celebrate cherries – both tart and sweet – as a major crop, a summer delight, and a shared heritage. This exhibit is an homage to all things cherry, with an open call for art in all media.
