Calls for Art 2025

We welcome your submissions to the following shows throughout the year. Pieces are due at OAC generally the weekend before show opens – see each show for specific dates. Some shows, such as the Juried Show, will have different requirements or entry fees, which will be updated as information is available. Work will be reviewed upon submission, and must be exhibit-ready. See show application forms for specific details of entry and participation.

Artists are welcome to apply for a FEATURED ARTIST spot in our North Hall at any point during the year, when space is available.  Contact Julie White Pierce at gallery@oliverart.org for more information. To propose an exhibition in our Fisher Room Gallery or our Beck and Borwell Galleries, please use this form.

2025 CALLS FOR ART

TACTILITY – JANUARY 10 – FEBRUARY 14 2025

 

Tactility: noun
The fact that something can be touched, or feels pleasant or interesting to touch.
The way that something feels to you when you touch it.
The quality or action of touching someone or something.

Tactility in art is the tangible quality that invites touch, even in a two-dimensional realm. It’s the artwork’s ability to evoke a sense of texture or physicality, drawing viewers into a more intimate experience.
Artists achieve tactility through a variety of means: diverse materials, textures, and techniques. These elements add depth, dimension, and a sense of realism, stirring emotions and provoking thought in the viewer.

Open Call Entry Fees: $10 flat rate, $5 for OAC members. Artists can submit up to two original works for one fee – at least one must be for sale. Only accepted works will be charged an entry fee.
Featured Artist Entry Fees:
$0 for invited artists
Commissions:
70% commission for Featured Artists, 60% for Open Call Artists
Drop Off of Accepted Works: January 4th 10:30 am – 3:30 pm and Sunday January 5th 12:00 pm – 3:30 pm
Artist Talk: Friday February 14th 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm
Exhibition Closes: February 14th
Pick-Up: Featured artists: February 14th after 4:00 pm, All others: February 15th, 10:30 am – 3:30 pm

SHE: Honoring Women in Art – FEBRUARY 21 – MARCH 28, 2025

In honor of Women’s History Month, OAC asks for submissions from women artists in all media. We are curating this exhibit with several invited artists but will also be accepting additional entries via an open call.

Please submit a photo and description of your work by noon on Friday, February 14th using the form below, or via email to gallery@oliverart.org.

Open Call Entry Fees: $10 flat rate, $5 for OAC members. Artists can submit up to two original works for one fee – at least one must be for sale. (Only accepted works will be charged an entry fee.)

Coastal Caravan 2025:

We’re excited to announce that the 3rd Annual Coastal Caravan Art Fair will be held on Saturday, July 26th on the grounds of the Oliver Art Center.  This will be a juried fair, the goal being to present shoppers with a high-quality shopping experience featuring handmade and original works, offering our participating artists an enjoyable opportunity to sell their products. The show will begin at 10:00 am and end at 4:00 pm and is free to the public. We will promote the event on our website, on social media, via email, in print, on IPR radio, and with yard signs throughout the region.

Our booth fees remain $50,  with artists retaining 100% of their sales.

Some of the activities we have planned will help enhance the day and drive attendance:

  • Live music performances during the afternoon hours.
  • A food truck will be on site.
  • The OAC Bloody Mary bar and beer and wine tent will be back!
