This innovative program includes visual arts and culinary arts instruction for area youth ages 7 and up, who qualify for free and reduced lunch.
Sessions will begin with a one-hour art session introducing students to a variety of art movements, media, and techniques.
The program will then continue with a one-hour session where students would enjoy a meal while discussing kitchen safety, food nutrition, and easy to make recipes with Caitlin Lorenc from the Benzie MSU Extension.
Students will go home with several completed art projects as well as the skills needed to continue creating and making art on their own. Students will also leave with full stomachs as well as recipes and groceries for quick and easy meals to prepare at home.
Classes will run every Friday from June 16 until August 25 from 10am to 12:30pm. Each class can accommodate up to 10 kids. Each student will be provided with round trip Benzie Bus passes if needed to attend class – please notify the office at 231-352-4151 or info@oliverart.org
Each week will introduce kids to new projects and recipes.
