Lavender Wands with Jennifer Flynn


In the 17th and 18th Century French Women found new uses for Lavender. Lavender wands were created using ribbons to weave around stems of lavender to create a beautifully scented lavender wand. Materials provided by Warren Hill Lavender Farm.

Instructor Bio:  Jennifer has been creating batik painting since 1987.  She has exhibited in shows, galleries, and museums, and her work is in homes all over the world.  In 2005 she received the award of “Best in Show” in fiber art at the Ann Arbor Art Fair.  Jennifer and her husband, Don, live in Northwest Michigan in the Sleeping Bear Dunes area, where they grow lavender for sale at the Frankfort Farmer’s Market.  She volunteers regularly at numerous organizations and events in the region and is a member of the Oliver Art Center board of directors.
