Fused Glass Fruit Ornaments workshop with Susan Smith

Turn your favorite fruits and vegetables into colorful fused glass ornaments, suitable for hanging in a window or on a Christmas tree. Students can make up to four ornaments.
In these dynamic workshops, we work with colorful fusible glass, learning to cut and nip glass and use scraps and embellishments to create your own fused glass
treasure. Classes include information about types of glass, fusing basics and tools used to cut and break glass.
No experience required, age 10 –adult welcome! The instructor will fire your work in her studio and you can have it mailed or pick it up at the OAC when it is complete, about 1 week after class.
Registration fee: $45 Non-Member/$40.50 Member
Supplies, firing and assembly fee per student: $15
Instructor Bio: Susan became an art educator after a twenty-five year career in graphic design. She is a graduate of Interlochen Arts Academy, earned a BA in Art from Western Michigan University and holds a K-12 Teaching Certificate in Art. She has worked in a variety of educational settings including public and private schools, community college, art centers and home school partnerships. She has experience in a variety of art media, but fused glass and mosaic are her favorites.
