CANCELLED iPhone Photography Workshop with Robert Ashmun

Description:

WEDNESDAY 4PM (at Oliver Art Center), and 5:30-8 OUTSIDE

THIS CLASS HAS A RAIN DATE FOR THE EVENING/IN SITU PORTION OF THURSDAY AUGUST 29.

This class will cover various aspects of iPhone camera technology using the editing software built into phones from the iPhone 11 to the most recent model (iPhone 15 Pro-Max). We will start with about 1.5 hours of class time to allow a visual demonstration of what phone cameras are capable of, as well as before and after examples of what the editing software can accomplish. After a break, we will go outdoors to expose several images that will show how to apply some of the photography and editing tools. We’ll also practice finding the right light and angle, explore camera positions, review composition and framing, and other traditional photography concepts as they apply to iPhone photography.

Instructor Info:  Robert Ashmun is a lifelong member of the Professional Photographers of America and has earned the degrees of Master Photographer and Photographic Craftsman through the association. He is a strong advocate of continuing education to keep up with changes in the industry and he has taught his style and technique of photographing families and high school seniors to other professionals at national seminars for many years. Robert owns Ashmun Portrait Art studio in Leelanau County and has hosted workshops in Sedona Arizona and locally. His published book of techniques help his students with off-camera flash and building inexpensive backgrounds.
