UPCOMING EVENTS AT OLIVER ART CENTER
Don’t miss these fun activities happening this month at OAC!

Join us for a Winter Celebration before the Community Tree Lighting in downtown Frankfort on December 6th from 3:30 pm – 5:30 pm at Oliver Art Center. This fun open-house event will include tasty treats and hot chocolate, along with live piano music from David Chown and caroling with the OAC Singers! Don’t miss the 10% discount on all purchases in our Gallery, Gift Shop, or Winter Market and the opportunity to win gift certificates throughout the event! Afterward, we can all stroll down to the tree lighting event at Rotary Park, starting at 6:00 pm – the holidays are almost here!

The OAC is a proud supporter of WUWU radio – be sure to stop by and enjoy their upcoming fundraiser at the Oliver Art Center on December 7th!

A ‘Whoop-De-Do’ is described as a ‘noisy and exuberant activity’ so come prepared to have fun! This festive community gathering will feature live music by The Handstanders, a Silent Auction, delicious food and drink, and door prizes throughout the evening.

There’s no admission fee, but donations are encouraged, with all proceeds supporting the Elberta Labor Heritage Center’s Building Fund.

The Handstanders were born out of late-night jam sessions at Handstand — the art studio of founding member Jamey Barnard located in Onekama. The quartet features keyboard, piano, drums and saxophone. They have played many music festivals and venues around the Midwest and describe their music as soulful and melodic, jazz-infused exploratory rock.

The Elberta Heritage Center and WUWU Community Radio are raising funds to purchase the historic Elberta Mercantile Building, with the goal of creating a home for local history and local voices in downtown Elberta. This space will preserve Elberta’s labor and community heritage while providing a hub for storytelling, radio production, and cultural events.

Our last Drop-In Crafting day of 2025 is our biggest yet! Bring the whole family to OAC on December 13th from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm for fun and festive arts and crafts. We will have several stations set up with a variety of take-home activities, including watercolor or relief-printed cards, beeswax holiday candles, folded paper ornaments, mini canvas paintings, and more! Mrs. Claus and her Elves will be on hand to help with the creations and ring in the holiday spirit. All supplies are provided, all ages welcome – there will be something creative for everyone!
