The Oliver Art Center presents the Nancy Ingersoll Foster Artist in Residence Program
Supporting artists is at the heart of our mission, and with the generous support of an endowment, we are happy to announce the formation of the Nancy Ingersoll Foster Artist in Residence program in 2025! Nancy Foster has long been a supporter, teacher, and exhibitor at the Oliver Art Center. An accomplished painter working in watercolors, pastels, and oils, she has depicted emotional landscapes and captured unique personal moments from across the country – from Chicago’s streets to the farms of the Midwest, California’s towering trees to aerial views of mountains and fields, Michigan’s dunes to delicate floral still lifes and more. Her dedication to arts education has extended to the development of this new residency program, which will offer a 2-week-long retreat to an artist working in any visual media to focus on their work and explore all the inspiration and peacefulness that northwest Michigan offers.
Applications for 2026 will be open at the end of 2025.
