What is this? Much like the philosophy behind the Little Free Libraries, these little galleries have ‘wee’ art available to anyone! They are located in three places: Oliver Art Center at 132 Coast Guard Road (South end of 2nd St.), Century 21 Northland at 408 Main Street, and Benzie Shores District Library at 630 Main Street – all in Frankfort!
How does it work? Volunteers make art on a small scale (all artistic talents welcomed) and place in the gallery. Visitors may view the art, take the art, leave their own art, or make a monetary contribution via our website oliverart.org (contributions can be made via mail to PO Box 1513 Frankfort, MI 49635 or by stopping into OAC).
How much does it cost? The art is FREE! It is being provided by volunteers and the entire program is sustained by donations.
Want to leave art? Great! Simply place in the gallery of your choosing or stop by Oliver Art Center and leave it with them to place. Supplies can be purchased at any arts and craft stores – mini canvases or board, matted paper or photos – we just ask that it is ready for display! We are looking for all mediums from paintings to sculptures to fiber work and much more!
Help us spread the word! Take photos, tag OAC and use #littlefreeartgallery #oliverartcenter #frankfort on social media!
