How to Frame

Description:

Instructor: Lauren Everett Finn

Sometimes the things we want to frame are not a standard size.

In this class, learn how to order custom framing online and how to frame works on paper, canvas and wood panels. We will cover the measuring and ordering process and how to assemble the frames and correctly mount the artwork using both metal and wood frames, and discussing the advantages of each. Find out about an inexpensive yet tidy way to finish the edges of large canvases. You are welcome to bring something you need to frame so we can figure out exactly what you’ll need to order.

Lauren Everett Finn creates colorful acrylic and mixed media paintings depicting a wide variety of subjects, both real and imagined. She’s currently working on a series of 200 bouquet paintings, but likes to work on abstracts as well, for the variety and the challenge. Lauren also enjoys teaching painting classes and workshops. She says, “There’s nothing like seeing painters learn something new. I love the energy of a classroom. All that creativity swirling around is inspiring!” Lauren creates in her home studio on Big Platte Lake in Honor, Michigan, and is represented by Synchronicity in Glen Arbor and Tvedten Gallery in Harbor Springs.
