Watercolor with Cedar Kindy - Dune Shadows

This is a great class for beginners, because there is a little drawing involved, other than some intersecting lines. Several watercolor techniques will be learned: Variegated washes, wet on wet and dry brush. The dunes are high keyed, so the focus will be to paint their shadows in light washes of subtle blue and purple grays. The sky is painted wet on wet. The grasses are painted with a fan brush or dry brushed. Experience painters will learn  to paint high keyed  and not paint the shadows too dark.

Watercolor and Pastel with Cedar Kindy - Autumn River

Color me a river! This workshop is almost about abstract painting, because its primary
focus is on the shapes off autumn color. A very fun class for beginners because it is an
intuitive exploration of color, involving very little drawing. Emphasis will be on learning
the basic watercolor techniques of wet on wet, spraying, lifting out and dry brush.
The application of pastel on top of the watercolor background, will further create the
illusion of the trees’ canopy and their reflections in the river. Put a few geese or a
kayak in the river and call it finished!
