Friday August 26, 2022 – Friday August 26, 2022
Description:
Instructors: Meg Louwsma and Caitlin Lorenc
This innovative program includes visual arts and culinary arts instruction for area youth ages 7 and up, who qualify for free and reduced lunch. Area youth enrolled in this free program will be able to experience a one-hour art class taught by OAC’s Youth Education Coordinator, Meg Louwsma, that will focus on historical art periods and figures, introduce different art movements, and teach basic art skills.
Additionally, they would have a one-hour session where they would enjoy a meal while discussing kitchen safety, food nutrition, and easy to make recipes with Caitlin Lorenc from the Benzie MSU Extension.
Students will go home with several completed art projects as well as the skills needed to continue creating and making art on their own. Students will also leave with full stomachs and recipes and groceries for quick and easy meals to prepare at home.
Each class is different and not a continuation from any previous class.
